It comes in cycles, I think. You learn this lesson the hard way, then when your life is good because of it you get complacent again and forget it, then once you hit another rock bottom the truth comes back around. And it goes on and on.
John & I actually moved this month! I think it’s part of what’s throwing me off (leaving home is hard), but we can already tell it’s a more sustainable life in the long run.

I find, occasionally, I still have to remind my children, 60 & 63 (and myself) that nobody promised you fair, -or easy.
Though how we approach it all and whether in the long run it's fun or not, is entirely within our control.
