Life is full of little tragedies, and perhaps one of the greatest is that everyone seems to be born pretty much good, and then somewhere along the way, generally between the ages of eight and sixteen, something comes around to veer them off track.
Being a parent must be the scariest thing in the world. A kid can be brilliant, and then get ousted from their friend group because of some nonsense or get called short by a bunch of girls and struggle to find a date to the prom, and then BAM—confidence gone. Then they start to disguise their own personalities because obviously it’s better if they become someone else, and then next thing they know they’re doing drugs (legal or illegal), committing crimes, or they’ve just generally become mean and unhappy.
