John, I say this hoping you won’t start putting your brilliance behind one of those insidious paywall’s, but you could get people hooked on your writing. I know I’m an addict and find myself anticipating the next drop. Not only are your story’s interesting, they’re crafted in a style that is wholly different than anything I’ve read. The way the timeline jumps to and fro works like the mental process in real time of my own mind. It feels like revolutionary concept in literature. And I could go on, but that is the main draw for me. Each story makes me say, “Bravo!”

That mental process of reality and somewhere in between that constantly flip flops in my own mind is exactly what I am going for in this story, so I’m happy to see it has been able to come through cleary to people reading it. As of now Picking Stones will be available for free, but I will have to decide whether to pursue getting it traditionally published or to self publish it, which can impact it being available for free on here. Let’s see where the world takes it!

I was just having a bit of fun regarding paywalls, you obviously should be paid highly for your efforts. Now I'm no literary expert, but in my estimation, your writing is legend and should you publish it, I will be the first to buy a book from you. I do hope that you make an audiobook as my eyesight is very poor and I listen to your posts on the wonderful Substack phone app. Cheers!

I have always hated fall, it has always felt like the harbinger of doom to me, so this resonated in ways I hadn’t expected and had me thinking of the reasons behind this feeling. Fantastic writing and I felt the reeling in this one!

Well done John. I distinctly noticed heightened positive romanticism contrasted with death echos. Which reminds me of classical music climaxes of drums and strings, or in painting when light are dark are juxtaposed. Glad you are sharing these chapters with us. Thank you.
