Stone has it right about cracking the barrier. Let this be your new start. Before you know it you’ll have so much down on paper you won’t know what to do with it. Things have their cycles. Just let things happen and it’ll work out.
Well I didn't write for a week, then yesterday forced myself to start an article. The first two sentences didn't survive the final edit, but it kinda wrote itself as I allowed it to take shape. I observed my brain at work, thanked God for Google, and it got written. Then I did a second one in the evening. How in heaven did that happen? I suppose because I just made a start accepting that it might or might not result in something which was worth sharing. Pretty much what you did in this post, which was very insightful, helpful and worth sharing. Battle on!
I certainly related to this post, and after reading it, I subscribed. Writing is a love/ hate relationship and you definitely wrote the words for those of us who struggle time and time again when the mind and hand disconnects! This post was a moral boost for everyone who gets stuck in the mud! Glad I found you on Stone's restack! 😊
I understand and feel every word of this. I haven't been writing as much lately. A break sounds great, yet not writing is more painful for most of us than any alternative. Best wishes on finding your way back to a flow of ideas and thoughts. It's still there somewhere.
This was a raw read! I like reading other people's work! I think we can learn alot from others!! I appreciate people that aren't afraid to be vulnerable in their writing! I definitely hit the subscribe button i can wait to read more of your work
I have experienced this emotion more times than I can count, John... and like you, it's the worst feeling in the world.
With this drop, however, you've cracked the barrier. You are back in the proverbial saddle, so ride that horse until it gets tuckered out... 🫡
Well said Stone. Thanks for sharing this. Hope everything is well on your end!

You guys are definitely right. I can feel it coming back, hopefully it stays for a while.
I appreciate your honesty John. My Best to you and Melissa.
Well, imho, I enjoyed reading your writing for today. A sense of Commonality abounds
Thank you Elyse!
